This year’s IB2 art exhibition revolved around humanity and “modern” concepts, as all Visual Arts students have gravitated towards themes that are caused by the social, cultural, and environmental status of the modern age – hence the name of the exhibition, “Modern Renaissance”.
Students spent the entire day on Saturday setting up for the exhibition and missed classes on Monday as well in preparation for this big event. Many art students were wary of the new location of the exhibition. Previous years, the exhibitions were situated on the third floor in the student lounges and several classrooms. This year, it was not an option as room 327/328 was occupied by music teacher Ms. Lin. When reflecting on the successful event, IB art student Hae Jin Lee claims that he heard audiences say this year’s exhibition was the best AISG has ever seen. We imagine that it will only go uphill from here, as next year’s students will have access to the brand new theatre for their exhibition.
The exhibition ends today, but if you missed it, check out some snapshots from the event below: (photos by Hannah Eng and Ibrahim Bah)
