The Coronavirus has negatively impacted many industries. Private corporations are struggling to maintain their business due to the effects of COVID-19. The global pandemic has caused many businesses, such as restaurants, grocery stores, shopping malls to close down due to a fall in sales and to prevent spread of the virus. The film industry in particular, has faced an immense amount of loss following the outbreak. The release of movies have been delayed and the production of films have been hindered.

Film sets usually consist of a large number of staff, crew and cast, limiting the availability of social distancing and safety. Most film producing corporations have lost a considerate amount of money because they stopped producing following the pandemic.

Netflix has donated a lot to the staff members in need of financial assistance; however, many projects have been shut down and according to Euronews, approximately 200,000 individuals might lose their job during the pandemic.

As an alternative, movie producers are looking for new methods of filming while keeping the cast and crew safe. According to Euronews, filming is not going to be the same as it has been mainly because of the requirement to be social distant from each other. The number of staffs on set will be limited and medical staffs will be present while the filming occurs.

Cinemas are hopefully going to open in July according to the International Union of Cinemas, but may alter depending on each country’s local guidelines and policies.
