With a new coach comes new expectations, and the AISG cross country team has high hopes for success in the upcoming season and APAC competition. They want to increase their level of fitness, as well as challenge themselves physically and, more importantly, mentally.

11th grade runner Kenny Lau said, “I hope we can run together, encourage each other, and keep running as a team— never stopping.” When asked how he felt about having a new coach, he responded, “She’s always been the assistant coach so it’s not that big of an adjustment. I think so far Ms. Tyler has done a really good job and will continue to. I think this season we can be very competitive, and I’m really looking forward to it. The training program has been intense— it made me feel more conscious about fitness as a whole, and certainly was enriching. It was fun because all the people on the team put in all the hard work, making it totally worth it!”

Although the team was disappointed at the cancellation of the IASAS Exchange due to weather conditions in Kuala Lumpur, they had an outstanding time at the AISG Fun Run on September 12, and look forward to performing to the best of their abilities at the APAC competition later this month.
