The New York City Fashion Week came back for the 2022 Fall Season collection. This brought light to many upcoming brands as well as popular brands like Dauphinette, Laquan Smith, and many others.
Front rows were filled with celebrities and photographers were lined in the streets outside of the shows. Gabriela Hearst’s show featured models Paloma Elsesser and Quannah Chasinghorse and Blake Lively, arriving at the Michael Kors presentation in a modest ice blue skirt with a matching bra top and blazer were the greatest head-turners this show.
“Some of the brands I saw were really innovative and expressive. For example I really liked Hekka, it stood out from the other brands,” said Mandy M. a sophomore at AISG.
The Singaporean fashion brand, Hekka, was one of the brands that stood out most to fashion enthusiasts this year. Hekka’s vision is to embrace diversity, inclusivity, and accessibility. This was brought to life in their clothing during their presentation, which caught many eyes.
“I support diversity in all its forms, and love to see that diversity displayed in fashion. The Hekka collection was a great example of showcasing unique talents, and I was pleased to support this important event,” said Maye Musk, Canadaian-South African model and dietitian.
This Fall Season’s collection stood out with its sheer dominance of brown in most outfits. Light-colored neutrals were all the fashion industry talked about when it came to Winter-dressing until now. Designers are coloring their Fall 2022 collections with chocolate brown and cocoa-colored shades, from cozy oat-colored outfits to light almond-colored coats.
