Preview on the Upcoming Teacher-Student Basketball Match

On December 16, 2021, the Staff vs Varsity basketball game will take place. This event aims to expand on the connection between students and teachers as well as other faculty members.

This event was first initiated last year by Mr. Kydd, the Athletics and Activities Director. For the varsity team, this game also gave the team a precious game experience that was rare due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It was a really fun and exciting experience,” commented Richie L., a junior in AISG who is part of the varsity basketball team. “I can’t wait to play the teachers again this year.”

“Playing the teachers was really intimidating,” said David J., who is also a junior part of the varsity team. “There were a lot of teachers that were actually really good at basketball. A lot of them were teachers that I knew well but did not expect to play basketball. It was really cool to see them play, and I think it’s going to be even better this year!”

With loosened regulations of COVID-19, more teachers are to join, along with the spectators who were not allowed to watch the game last year.
