Prom 2019: Eloquence was hosted by Pulse at the Ritz Carlton hotel on May 25. It started out with the traditional senior entrance, and ended with an intense dance break where a few students danced the night away. An amazing buffet was provided by the hotel and the night lasted from 7 to 10 p.m.
Most of the seniors made it to the night, which had approximately 100 attendees. “I loved it,” said Jeff L., a senior who attended prom for the first time. “Although I didn’t have a date, the food was great, and taking pictures with a proper backdrop made it enjoyable.”
Unlike last year, a professional DJ was rented to keep the music more organized and upbeat. “The music flowed nicely and it made the night much more enjoyable,” said tenth grader Jason P.
This year, Pulse chose to set up one large-size backdrop. Some were satisfied as they could take big group photos while the others complained about the lack of efficiency and speed with only one backdrop. Rebecca Z. mentioned, “I did not mind having one backdrop at all, but thinking about it now, I much prefer having 2 backdrops,” as it was a bit awkward for people to fight to take pictures first.
One of the problems Pulse faced this year while planning this huge event was the venue. They knew that the ideal price from the student body’s perspective for prom was only around 200 max. However, the venue they wished for was a huge ballroom from a 5-star hotel. Luckily, they were able to book a ballroom at Ritz Carlton, an internationally well-acknowledged 5-star hotel. Although the prices were not low, Pulse would like to mention that they always fight for the lowest price for everything — and certainly tried to lower the price of prom tickets as much as possible. They also hope that everyone who attended had a great night, with good food, dates, and music. Leave comments down below — whether it be positive or constructive criticism!
