Quizbowl 2021: The Exciting Tournament’s Results

The AISG Quizbowl team participated in a tournament on February 26 with 15 other teams all located in the United States. Both the A team and the B team participated in the tournament and played to the best of their abilities.

AISG currently has two Quizbowl teams. The A team consists of members Jet C., Billy B., and Martin W. The B team includes Ethan K., Dachan S., Thomas W. and Nathan C. Both teams participated in the tournament that was held online but took place the morning of the 26. AISG was the only Asian school that was invited to participate in the tournament as the rest of the schools were American schools. The tournament AISG participated in was for the small (open) division, because AISG is considered to be a part of the small school section for the divisions of Quizbowl.

The A team earned second place out of the 15 teams for the small (open) division. The B team got 14th place out of the 15 teams that participated in the same division. A team member Jet C. was surprised they got such a high placement, since this was their first tournament in over a year; she does, however, think that the teams are out of shape, especially the B team. She thinks that with more practice, the B team could have a lot of potential and do better in the tournaments. The A team qualified for nationals for the open division of small schools, which takes place later this year.
