Rams Showcase their Talent on Ram Nation’s Got Talent!

On 9:45 a.m., May 23, Ram Nation’s Got Talent officially started in the choir classroom of the theater. Mrs. Lyso coordinated the entire show, with the upper secondary choir performing in front of teachers and other upper secondary band and strings students.

The show consisted mainly of solo or duo performances in which each singer was required to sing a solo part. This performance is strictly an “informance,” short for informal performance, according to Mrs. Lyso. Of course, the students will still be graded on their vocal techniques.

Nikolai Hartmann, a sophomore at AISG, was the only soloist to compose and write his own song. Vishesh Bhagchandani, a sophomore, was absent from the performance.

“Before the performance, I felt very nervous,” said Tom L., a freshman soloist who performed in this event. “I thought I couldn’t compose myself and sing properly. But  once I started (performing), I felt less anxious and more relaxed.”

The string and band orchestra filed into the classroom at around 9:50, when all the choir singers were warmed up and ready to perform. Almost a dozen faculty members attended the event.

“Personally, I think the best performance goes to Melody and Sofie,” said Elvira C., an audience from the strings orchestra. “Their voices were melodious and harmonious. Both of their voices were clearly audible, never did one of their voice cover the other. The song they selected was also very popular, so the audience understood the performance better.”

Unlike other “Got Talent” shows, Ram Nation’s Got Talent does not produce a winner or best soloist. Instead, all of the songsters can showcase their own talents, to shine on an accepting and friendly stage.
