Reflections of a New Ninth Grader

In my opinion, the transition to from 8th grade to 9th grade is easy for me. I am excited to see that there are new students, teachers, and classes I can go to. It gives me a chance to meet new people and learn new things. There are not too many differences between high school and middle school because the classes are similar. One big difference is that now I need to work and study harder because every grade counts.
Grades are very important to 9th grade because it will affect my future, and what I do. The big difference between 8th grade and 9th grade is the amount of homework the teacher give to us. There is definitely more homework in 9th grade then last year. The things i learn in class are also more complicated, for example math. In math, last year we went over the basic of pythagorean theorem. This year however, we are learning about it with more in-depth things.
Another difference is my schedule. My friends are all arranged to different classes, we can see each other every day. I got more homework in 9th grade, and I need to spend more time on my homework than before. The English class is a bit difficult for me when I move to the high school, my new English teacher speaks fast, so sometime I can’t fully understand what she says in the class. PE class has also became longer as in 8th grade we only had it for half a block, but now we have it for the whole block.
This year, we have free period. This is helpful because I have more time to do the homework, and I can have more freedom than I had last year in 8th grade. In free period, I can ask my friends for help or I can study in that period.
I like 9th grade a lot more, even though there is more stress and homework. My advice for any new freshmen next year is to study more, and 9th grade will be fine.
