On December 16, 2021, the faculty vs student varsity basketball game took place after school. Not only did this even enable student-athletes to expand their connection with teachers and faculty members, but also celebrate the upcoming winter holiday in a special way.
First initiated by Mr. Kydd, the Athletics and Activities Director, teachers along with other faculty members battled hard against the varsity team. The boys varsity team defeated the teachers with the score of 31-23 while the girls team tied the teachers with the score of 24-24.
“It was one of the most fun events ever,” commented Abe Q., a sophomore part of the boys varsity basketball team. “It was so fresh to see teachers come out and ball, and there were a lot of teachers that were actually really good!”
“I loved the atmosphere yesterday,” said Sophia P., a junior captain of the girls varsity basketball team. “The rules were all messed up throughout the game, especially at the end, but it didn’t really matter because we all had tons of fun!”
The event started off from last year, where the boys varsity team lost to the teachers by more than 30 points while the girls team had to battle through the countless fouls of the teachers, with more than 10 teachers playing on court at the same time.
