Rick And Morty Season 4: Their Adventures Are Back!

Adult Swim, the television network that streamed the notorious show, Rick and Morty, released the first episode of Season 4 on November 10. Rick and Morty is an iconic animation about an elite scientist and his grandson going on random adventures and missions across the universe. Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, the two creators of this show, live-streamed their very first episode on December 2, 2013, and created 3 seasons of random and mind-blowing content ranging from breaking the rules of time to a man changing into a pickle.

In Season 1, Rick brings Morty to adventures, where they accomplish random, crazy activities that puts Morty in danger. Morty’s parents decide Rick is a bad influence on Morty, and tries to cut Rick off from Morty’s life. Rick is infuriated and persuades his daughter, Beth, who is also Morty’s mom, to get a divorce with her husband, Jerry.

They divorce in Season 3 and Rick uses Morty as a sidekick for multiple adventures. In the Season 3 finale, Beth realizes that she made a mistake and gets back together with Jerry, decreasing Morty’s appearance in Rick’s adventures.

A sophomore, Andrew Z., comments that the episode was a creative way to start a new season after a long wait. He also states how the content has not changed over the 2 years, “The topics they explore are still very sensitive and comedy is still only suitable to mature audiences.”

Personally, I am excited to see the new content that the writers have been working on, and surprised to see new and familiar faces on the screen. Just from looking at teasers and the first episode, I can already deduce that the new season is going to be hectic, wild and mind-blowing.
