For nearly a decade, the Street League Skateboarding has been the world’s leading professional skateboarding series, and now SLS hosted its competitive tour this year after over a year of postponement.

The League has been renamed the SLS Championship Tour and featured a hand-selected field of the world’s greatest skaters and largest personalities in street skating. This group of men and women competed in three events over the course of four months for a chance to win the Super Crown World Championship, the peak of professional street skateboarding.

“I’m so glad the SLS Champion Tour is going to be held this year since it was canceled last year,” says Devon D., a sophomore at AISG.

The 2021 SLS Championship Tour started in Salt Lake City, Utah on the weekend of August 28. The Tour then moved on to Miami, Florida on the weekend of October 30. And, finally, the SLS Super Crown World Championship, took place in Jacksonville, Florida last weekend (November 13).

The roster for the SLS Super Crown includes over 40 professional skaters and new rookies, some notable contestants are, Nyjah Huston, Yuto Horigome, Leticia Buffoni, and Rayssa Leal.

“If I get to see my favorite skaters like Letica Bufoni and others compete against each other, I’m so excited for the Championship,” Says Josh J., a freshman at AISG.
