Not a huge athlete? Reluctant to workout at the gym? Stressed with the workload of school? Then the yoga club is for you!
The yoga club is a newly founded club that will have its first meeting on Tuesday, September 4th in room 227/228. Participants will be following YouTube videos for the first semester to shape up their yoga skills! From the second semester, the club may be having Ms. Higley as an instructor to guide members through even more yoga lessons.
With a new school year starting, many students may be overwhelmed with the stress of the schoolwork. New students may be struggling to adjust to the new environment, while returning students may be stressed about their next summative assignment. Yoga is an extremely effective way to calm the mind, especially after school.
“I had planned to do the yoga activity which had been offered at AISG for the past [two] years,” junior student Prerna K., founder of this club, comments. “When I found out it wasn’t here this year, I panicked. […] We decided to make a yoga club because we need ‘activity’ for CAS and since we’re in journalism, we didn’t want to [change to] Fit 4 Life.” Prerna K. expresses her excitement of having “about thirteen confirmed members right now.”
“I think it’s a very versatile activity that almost everyone can do, whether it’s for CAS or just to relax and meditate,” another junior student and founder of the club, Alison L. says. She continues to mention that she is “looking forward to being able to relax,” and that everyone is welcome to join no matter how much experience or flexibility they have!
If you are interested or in need of ‘activities’ or perhaps even ‘creativity’ for CAS, join the club with comfy work-out attire on Tuesdays after school to enjoy a relaxing session of yoga.
