StuCo Instagram Launch: Go Follow!

• Bookmarks: 591864

On October 7, 2019, the official AISG Student Council Instagram account was launched after a long time of planning and preparation. From October 7 to 11 which would be from Monday to Friday, StuCo will select one random follower each day and give a prize which is the following:

Monday: Senior servant for a day

Tuesday: Elevator pass

Wednesday: Senior servant for a day

Thursday: Free waimai for lunch

Friday: Senior servant for a day

As of today, the winners for Monday and Tuesday, Lydia Kuo from grade 9 and Rachel Moon from grade 12, were already announced through our school’s PA system and Instagram stories. Three more prizes, however, still remain, so it is not late at all to go follow our Instagram account @aisgzstuco and have a shot at any of the three prizes!

Why do we need a new AISG StuCo Instagram account when we already have @aisgalumni and @aisgz Instagram accounts? “

A few people asked me this question during the past few weeks, and as one of the Executive StuCo members, I would like to offer an explanation to the question. The StuCo Instagram page, as it is directly run by the ExCo members, will adopt the persona of an AISG student. We will have fun stories, polls, throwback (#tb) or outfit of the week (#ootw) posts which would be more entertaining for our student population than just pictures. The account, after all, was made so that StuCo can interact and communicate with the student body in a much more approachable manner––that is, the account will act to serve as the voice of our student body on a popular social media platform. For example, if there is a school event, such as the Talent Show, our Instagram StuCo page will have stories filmed from behind-the-stage view and other fun features that would not be possible for other official AISG social media accounts.

If you have any questions about the StuCo Instagram page or have any recommendations for features that the account should have, feel free to leave comments below!
