Summering with the Rams

While summer has come to an end, school resumes for a new year at AISG. That means it is time to hear about all of the different experiences your friends and fellow AISG students had during the summer of 2016. AISG students certainly had an array of experiences ranging from summer camps, to internships, summer jobs, traveling, family vacations and more. With that being said, take a look at some summer blurbs from a few students.

Grade 11 student Jeremy Eng weighed in on some of his summer experiences. He was able to have both a fun and productive summer at the same time. He had the opportunity to attend a month-long basketball camp in Pennsylvania and he also worked for a month as a summer hire at the U.S. Consulate here in Guangzhou. During the basketball camp, he learned a lot and improved his skills and habits. He commented on the camp saying, “This summer was a memorable one for me because I had a lot of fun at a basketball camp called Global Squad. It was a time where I didn’t have to worry about school and where I could relax and enjoy playing basketball.” He also said that his summer job helped him “Learn a lot about the real world and diplomacy.”

Grade 12 student Ryan Chiang was also kind enough to give some insight on his summer experiences. He went on a motorbiking trip with a group of friends to Kending Beach in Taiwan. He enjoyed being able to have fun while spending time with his friends, most of whom were recent graduates from AISG. He said, “This is the first summer where I lived alone in Taiwan for a month.” Although this was new for him, he enjoyed it. He added, “I learned to be more independent and got to have a taste for what life is going to be like when I live independently in college.”

Although most students are probably wishing their summer was not over and that they could still be on vacation, the reality is that school is back in session. But, hopefully everyone had a lot of fun and memorable experiences this summer like Jeremy and Ryan.
