AISG’s swimmers have been practicing since late October for their APAC tournament which will be held in Beijing, hosted by ISB (International School of Beijing). This year, the team consists of 14 swimmers, seven girls, and seven boys. For some swimmers, it will be their first big tournament and for some, it will be their last.

As a part of this team, I chose to interview our coaches and other swimmers regarding their feelings right before this tournament.

Coach Brooks, AISG’s new Physical Ed. teacher and swim coach, said that this year’s team is primed and ready for this year’s APAC tournament. He stated, “The two tournaments leading up to the championships in Beijing have been a good test for both boys and girls”, and that there have been drastic improvements in many of our swimmers.

Both coaches are looking forward to this tournament as it is a great opportunity to set personal best and school records.

Our girls team captain, Mulayne L. expressed excitement when I asked her how she was feeling about this year’s team. She commented, “This year, I feel like we have much more spirited and encouraging swimmers in the team” and she feels as if this year’s team has been the strongest since her freshman year.

AISG’s swim team is well prepared and is ready to show Beijing their best.
