• Bookmarks: 1612015

The annual Athletics and Activities Award Ceremony, an event to celebrate the efforts of all student-athletes and performers as well as their respective coaches and directors, was held at the AISG Science Park Campus on Friday, May 12.

The event began with a reception starting from 5 p.m. including complimentary food and drinks for guests. Pamphlets of the event were given out as guests made their way into the theatre for the official start of the ceremony at 6 p.m.

The ceremony began with the two MCs, Vivianna P. and Carson A., both juniors and members of the Athletic Council, introducing the event and the awards; Most Valuable Player/Performer, Most Improved Player/Performer, and the Coaches or Directors Choice Award.

The season one athletics awards were given first, followed by the season one activities award and a short performance by the APAC Orchestra. The season two athletics awards were then given, followed by the Male/Female Performer of the Year, and Male/Female Athlete of the Year.

Eva G, a senior, was announced as the Female Performer of the Year, for her performance in a variety of APAC festivals. Euna J., a sophomore, was given the Female Athlete of the Year award, for her performance during the Volleyball season and Soccer season in which she was awarded the Most Valuable Player award for Soccer.

Unfortunately, this year there was no Male Performer of the Year. Carson A., a junior, was given the Male Athlete of the Year award, for his performance during the Volleyball season and Soccer season, in which he was awarded the Most Improved Player for Volleyball.

Oscar L, a junior, was awarded the Scott Mohr award for his performance and enthusiasm this athletic year. The Scott Mohr Award is the most honorable award an athlete or performer can be awarded. It is an award to honor Scott Mohr, a former student of AISG, who sadly passed away in 2015, for his contribution to our community.

The ceremony ended with a farewell to the Departing Coaches and Directors, as well as a final goodbye to all senior athletes and performers.
