The World Series is the annual championship series of Major League Baseball in the United States and Canada, contested since 1903 between the champion teams of the American League and the National League. The 2020 World Series was between the L.A. Dodgers and the Tampa Bay Rays.

The first game was led by the Dodgers 8 to 3. The second game tied the series with a score of 6 to 4 to the Dodgers. In the third game, the Dodgers won again 6 to 2. The Dodgers lost the fourth game 7 to 8. Then they won the fifth game 4 to 2. The sixth game was the Dodgers leading 3 to 1. This resulted in the series is 4 to 2 so a seventh game was not needed and the Dodgers took the win.

The 116th World Series, a best of seven playoffs, between the Tampa Bay Rays and Los Angeles Dodgers. The Dodgers won to gain their first win of the championship in 32 years. Shortstop Corey Seager was named MVP on the Los Angeles Dodgers with batting 8-for-20 (.400) with two home runs, five runs batted in, and an on-base percentage of .556.

Due to Covid-19, all of the games played were in the Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, making it the first World Series played at the same ballpark since the first world series held back in 1944. The LA Dodgers had quarantined for 3 weeks and were about 20 minutes away from the ballpark. It had been 2 months since a player had tested positive in the MLB. Baseball was almost shut down earlier in the year due to 2 teams having outbreaks.

In the eighth inning of game 6, Turner was removed from the game. It was found that Turner had contracted Corona Virus during the season and was needed to be taken out. An anonymous interviewee said, “I was excited about the games I knew the Dodgers were going to win. They go to the World Series like all the time but choke. Hopefully, they win next year again.” Another commented, “I liked the result of the games. It was very satisfying to finally see the Dodgers win. I wish I could’ve gone to see it but with Covid it was impossible.”
