Saturday, October 22 was AISG’s second invitational tournament for the varsity volleyball teams and the final set of games for this season.
It was an emotional day for both the girls’ and boys’ teams as this would be the seniors’ last volleyball season at AISG. Everyone made sure that this final tournament would be their best in order to give the seniors an amazing final game.
Both teams secured first place with no sets lost, finishing off this volleyball season with yet another win.
Senior captains Gwynnie G. and Sophia P. of the varsity girls’ team gave an emotional final speech at the end of the season. “This volleyball team brought so much joy and passion to not only the sport but also the players and AISG community,” said Gwynnie G. “This has truly been the best season out of our four years.”
These two seniors are extremely proud of their team and although it is saddening for them to leave, they are looking forward to seeing what they make out of next year’s season.
Captains Richie L. and Oscar L. of the varsity boys’ team also gave a heart-warming speech about this season.
“I just really want to thank our coach for supporting my passion for volleyball for two years and I just really want to appreciate that,” said Richie L.
The captains are thankful to have had such an amazing team this year and can’t wait to see what next year brings.
This season has been full of amazing volleyball and teamwork. It will be very sad to see all the seniors leave, but the teams hope to carry their spirit on and keep training hard to hopefully win APAC next year.
