The Vegan MOOvement (gift card prize)

It’s that time in a sophomore’s life where they are assigned a science summative to take action in order to raise awareness and help the environment for their Ecosystems unit. There are several choices for the pairs to choose from; some of which are: a YouTube video, a social media page, an interview, a website or a podcast. This provides a wide variety for the pairs to choose from. However, the majority of the groups seem to be doing websites for their summative, such as Prerna K and Lisa M, Richard V and Melody A, Jennifer G and Rachel M, and more.

The more difficult aspect of this assignment though, is the taking action component. My partner and I have decided to make a website as well, which touches base on the perks of veganism and how cows should not be consumed as much as they are since our environment would be much healthier than it is with so much meat consumption. The website we made is called The Vegan Moovement (pun intended) and we are continuing to edit, so if you decide to visit the website for some information on what we have done, note that the site is nowhere near completion. For taking action, we will be organizing two days (Wednesday, 25 April and Friday 27 April), where students who bring in or order vegetarian or vegan food, will be awarded raffle tickets (1 for vegetarian, 2 for vegan) to compete for a Starbucks gift card!

If you are interested in winning the Starbucks gift card, make sure to bring/eat vegetarian/vegan lunch on Wednesday the 25th and Friday the 27th!
