Habitat for Humanity’s Casino Night took place last Friday, March 10 at the AISG elementary campus on Ersha Island.
This fun event was highly anticipated after its success last year, and it did not disappoint this year. It was a successful, fun-filled event that the Habitat for Humanity community service group did an excellent job coordinating. The night was filled with casino-style games and Habitat for Humanity provided snacks and drinks for purchase. The funds raised from this event go towards supporting the Habitat for Humanity service group’s efforts to build homes for people.
The games at the event included Russian Roulette, BlackJack, waterpong, card games, basketball free throws, xbox, foosball, and twister. With so many different options of games to choose from, there was something for everybody. The games were fun but aside from the games, the refreshments topped off the event perfectly. There was a ‘mocktail bar’ in which drinks were sold and brownies and cookies were also included. Those who attended the event were surprised to see Mr. Timmerman’s and were wowed by his buckets in the gym.
To end the night, there was a raffle. The raffle was extremely energetic, as some of the prizes included a drone, a GoPro, headphones, polaroid camera, sports watch, bean bags. Unfortunately, none of the raffle numbers were called, so it became an auction. During the auction, students competed for the prizes, and it was quite intense, as students continued to go back and forth with their offers until one finally one-upped the other.
Senior Hannah Eng attended the event and said “Overall, I thought it was a successful and fun evening and I’m glad I went.” For those who attended the event, they probably share her same opinion, as their was laughter throughout the night.
