On March 16th, a casino for students was opened for 3 hours at the AISG Ersha campus. Many students, not only from AISG, but also from local Chinese schools came and enjoyed their night in the casino.
Casino Night is a yearly event held by the community group ‘Habitat for Humanity’. Students can come and enjoy their first-ever-casino like night.
More than 5 games were available for the students who came to the casino. There were games such as ‘Poker’,’Dice it: High or Low’, and ‘Uno’. To participate in games, students needed to change either their cash or we-chat payment to get chips. Many people laughed or cried as they lost or gained chips, depending on the results of the games they played.
For hungry gamblers, the casino night prepared a small shack where gamblers could fill their stomach with nachos, corn-dogs, popcorn and cocktail-like-soft drinks.
Towards the end of the event, gamblers were able to change their remaining chips to raffle tickets to win many prizes including: a gigantic teddy bear, sports watch, skateboard, hand-creams, and a JBL bluetooth-speaker. As too many people decided to purchase the raffle tickets, the tickets were gone within 3minutes and the Habitat members had to make new ones by ripping random pieces of paper. Many people spent a large amount of money on purchasing of the raffle tickets, but only 5 people laughed and the rest of the people were in tears of regret from spending too much money.
