The 2016 presidential debates between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton have become an intense event that is creating controversial discussions among people. The immense audience for the debates have also chosen sides. Given the last debate that occurred on October 10, 2016, it seems that both Trump and Clinton are equally matched.

According to Telegraph News, the first presidential debate that occurred on September 26, 2016 concluded with Clinton winning. Trump ended with 34% of the voters, Clinton with 57% and the other 9% were unsure. The debate began in a mannerly fashion. Trump and Clinton showed great knowledge about certain topics. One of the issues discussed was the problem of companies moving to areas such as Mexico for cheaper land. These companies would create their product in Mexico but export it to the United States of America where it would be sold. Trump had multiple ideas on preventing the job losses of American workers, such as putting a high tax on these companies. This would make it a disadvantage to set up shops in foreign countries. Trump also attacked Clinton on her husband’s approval of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). He stated that it was the worst trade deal signed in the US and possibly in the world. Overall, Clinton was well prepared for this debate and showed her presidential abilities. Trump, on the other hand, lacked composure in comparison to Clinton, and he even avoided answering some questions. Although Trump did not answer every question, the questions that he answered provided in-depth explanations and the reasoning behind the answers showed significant understanding regarding the issue.

The second presidential debate, which took place on October 9, 2016, had a rather bitter atmosphere compared to the first debate. Neither candidate even bothered to initiate a handshake. Unlike the first debate, the second debate was more of an attack on the other presidential runner. Clinton accused Trump of disrespecting women with evidence from his “locker room talk” video that was recently discovered. Trump did not hold back on targeting Bill Clinton, who was practically defenseless and silent as his wife was being blamed for his actions. Trump also threatened to have a prosecutor look into Clinton’s email business and the suspicions that arose with that. Though the debate mainly featured two hateful candidates, it ended on a positive note. Both candidates were demanded to say one positive statement about the other person. Clinton showed her respect to Trump’s children by saying that their great behavior and character shows that Trump makes a great father. Trump replied by stating that although he may disagree with Clinton’s ideas, he respects how tough she is and her perseverance throughout the election.

The third election is scheduled to take place on October 19, 2016. This debate could well be the decider for which candidate will be elected president. Both presidential candidates must be on top of their game during the debate in order be victorious. The final presidential election will take place on November 8, 2016 and both presidential candidates are equally matched.
