Winter break is closing in, and everyone is excited to have some much-needed time off.
Many students and staff have some fun and exciting travel plans this winter. Many are going back home to finally see their family after this long stretch of covid restrictions.
Maia O. is a grade 8 student heading off to the lovely New Zealand this winter. “I’m really excited to be going back home this winter, I can’t wait to see some of my family,” she said.
Ersha’s innovation coach Mr. Smigelsky is travelling to Canada to visit family and friends. “I’m excited to just be home and see my family and friends since it’s been a long time since I’ve done that,” he said.
But don’t fear, if you can’t quite make it to your dream destination this year here are some things that you could do during your winter break.
Learn a new skill:
Learning new things is extremely important. Go out and learn a new skill. If you celebrate Christmas, why not learn how to make a gingerbread man?
Go out with friends:
If you have someone that also is not travelling, go spend some quality time with them. Go out and do something fun!
Try a new restaurant:
This holiday season is a great time to try new things, especially food. Who knows? It might become your new favorite restaurant.
Have a movie marathon:
Get cuddled up on the couch with your family and eat some delicious snacks while you watch some exciting new movies.
Go visit a museum:
The Guangzhou Museum is filled with interesting knowledge. Take a trip there and learn about even more of Guangzhou’s beautiful history.
Whether you celebrate Christmas or not, we hope that you enjoy this winter break and take some time to wind down and spend some quality time with family.
