“Cash Me Outside, Howbow Dah.” These infamous words came out from a problematic teenager’s mouth. Recently, there is a massive rise in underage social media stars getting viral due to them saying and doing ridiculous things.
Danielle Bregoli, also known as Bhad Bhabie, is a popular American rapper and social media personality that got famous for all the wrong reasons. Even though she was the first female rapper ever that got on to the Billboard Hot 100 charts with her breakout single These Heaux, and she got famous due to all the wrong reasons. She even got nominated for the 2017 MTV music awards and she is also nominated for the best female rapper in the Billboards music awards 2018 alongside Cardi B and Nicki Minaj. The first time that she was introduced to the internet is when she got interviewed on the Dr. Phil show with her mother so they could discuss how Bregoli’s behaviors are extremely inappropriate for a 13-year-old. When she got irritated by the laughter from the audience she replied: “Cash Me Outside, Howbow Dah.” That phrase granted her massive amounts of internet popularity due to internet memes and videos on youtube about her. That gave her sudden internet fame and helped her start up her music career.
Another example of these kinds of people is Victoria Waldrip, also known as Whoa Vicky. She got famous on the internet by claiming that she is 100% black but she clearly looks like she is biracial and her posts on Instagram always consists of her showing how much money she has but all the viewers could tell that she is not actually rich. Her popularity reached a peak when she made a diss track on a popular YouTuber named Ricegum. In the track, she used lots of racist lyrics such as ” Konichiwa, b*tch” and “Ching Chong Ching Chong Ching Chong, b*tch“. When her popularity has hit a decline, she teamed up with Lil Tay and tried to start internet conflicts with Danielle Bregoli, it even escalated to the point where they fought in real life just so Whoa Vicky and Lil Tay could get more internet publicity from Danielle Bregoli who is more popular than them.
The most extreme version of these talentless social media stars is Lil Tay, a 9-year old girl that claims that she is the “youngest flexer of the century”. Her fame started due to her displaying the money she has in a luxurious house and using an outrageous amount of profanity while displaying her wealth on Instagram. Eventually, she got really popular with trolls on the internet and also got made into many internet memes. She reached the peak of her popularity when famous YouTubers such as Ricegum and Pewdiepie made videos on her. Even though she became extremely popular and met with famous rappers such as Cheif Keef and Lil Pump, her fame did not last for more than 2 months. After a while, people discovered that her manager is her mom and she works as a realtor in suburban Vancouver. That could explain how Lil Tay is able to post videos of her in luxurious houses. When their customers found out that their house was in a Lil Tay video, they complained and this caused her mom to be fired from her job.
Lots of people on the internet would do anything to get attention in social media, they would say outrageous things and lie about everything that they do. Even though they gain massive amounts of hate from the community, the hate is what brings them the publicity that they wanted to get. They need to be stopped now.
