On September 29, the Chinese women’s volleyball team won the finals against Argentina with three sets straight, winning the 2019 FIVB (Fédération Internationale de Volleyball). The Volleyball Women’s World Cup was held in Japan from 14 to 29 September 2019 and the Chinese women’s volleyball team won first place with an unbeaten record of 11 consecutive victories.

This is the fourth time where the Chinese women’s volleyball team won the championships with an unbeaten record—beating the previous record set by the Cuba women’s volleyball team.

Following the victory was the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. In this ceremony held on October 1, the Chinese national women’s volleyball team gratefully concluded the show after soldier parades and the appearance of president Xi.

Yu Bing, a Chinese 56-year-old man who enjoys watching volleyball said that, “it was really an amazing experience to be able to see the Chinese women’s volleyball team win the championships unbeaten again. It was fascinating to see the strength, discipline, effort, and pride the girls and the coach Ping Lang put into this sport and their games.”

Many are anticipating their performance for the 2020 Olympics, hosted in Japan. Will they be able to keep up the glory and pride?
