This week has been filled with crazy costumes bought on by the themes of spirit week, but these costumes in particular really caught our attention. They have thereby been crowned the AISG 2016 Spirit Week winners.
Pajamas Day Winner
Everyone went to school looking like they just rolled out of bed, and some people probably even fell asleep in class due to the drowsiness and comfort that soft and baggy pajamas bring. Nonetheless, this cat that we caught lounging on one of the school couches wearing a Cookie Monster onesie and holding a plate of cookies was undoubtedly the clear winner.
Retro Day Winner
It’s Throwback Tuesday! The retro-inspired costumes literally blew us away. It really looked as if a time machine broke down and started randomly spitting out people from a range of different periods in time. Not everyone can pull off a seventies to eighties punk costume and look like a star, but it’s safe to say that the winner definitely succeeded.
Twin Day Winners
This day was filled was us feeling like we were seeing double. With the flurry of photos already posted on social media, we’ll just add one more to the list. These rats not only looked identical but also almost had us believe that they were Easter bunnies, so that is a definite win for them.
Celebrity Day Winner
We all wish we could raid the closets of celebrities and get to wear their clothes, but dressing up for Celebrity Day is as close as we can get. The winner, convincingly dressed as Lady Gaga, even has the same hair bow (literally hair bow) that Lady Gaga herself sported in 1990.
Internet Meme Day Winner
There’s no competition for this one. Meet Kabuso: the dog that launched a million memes. The popular internet meme “doge” includes an image of a dog of Kabuso’s breed, which is the Shiba Inu breed, surrounded by the words “wow”, “amaze” and intensifiers like “so”, “such” and “very”, paired with nouns, adjectives or verbs. The words are usually in the Comic Sans font and in every color of the rainbow.
