As Attention Disorder Hyperactivity Disorder, shortened and most well known as ADHD, is commonly interpreted as a disorder that causes extreme behavior, resulting the incapability to focus for long periods of time, it has been a subject that has been largely ignored by the public. Carriers of the disorder may be described as unsettling, sudden, and even crazy at young age, with symptoms developing into emotional and concentration instability. However, within the ignorance of the majority, researchers have recently stated that ADHD diagnoses have risen by 43% in the last 10 years.
A total of 58 million U.S. children today, ranging from 5 to 17 , have been diagnosed the disorder, which is 12 percent of the teenage population. As more than 1 child in 10 potentially carry the disorder, its causes still remain uncertain, although assumptions have been made pointing towards toxins exposed to during pregnancy. The issue is critical and should be taken concern, even though ADHD may not be a life-threatening disease, it may bring great restriction to children and potentially adults.
