On Monday, 19th of September, Guangzhou airport showed care towards women, hoping to help ease the tension on women inequality that still exists nowadays in China. To help decrease the inequality, the government released a new checkpoint for women only. The signs are noted in pink to show the differences between normal checkpoints in case men lined up.
These pink checkpoints, especially for women are made to prevent awkward moments with men, as their security guards. The women checkpoints are going nicely, with approval from citizens and visitors. The Chinese government won people’s hearts and agreement through this action.
Not only were the pink checkpoints opened, but also thoughtful baby baskets were included recently in the security check. Signs were stapled on the checkpoint posts to remind women of cosmetics or belongings that are banned on the airplane.
People did not find setting up women’s individual check point a discrimination against women, instead they believed that the government is turning out to be more thoughtful than before. People were content with the Chinese government’s move and believed that China will continue to develop into a better place.
