It is the senior’s last week at school! They will be taking the next couple of weeks to prepare for their final DP exams to finish off their last year in high school. The next few weeks will be stressful but exciting as they study for exams and say goodbye to high school.

To give them a nice farewell, students had the opportunity to order ‘Kiss the seniors goodbye’ presents which consisted of cards and small gifts for any of their senior friends, as well as give them an official send-off on the last day.

Sophia S., a senior at AISG, feels excited but bittersweet about this being her last few days at school.

“There’s some sadness, there are a lot of friends I made in school,” she said,

While it is the senior’s last week, the emotions have not quite hit as many will still be coming back to school to study or just to hang out after exams.

“I still don’t feel the last day of school vibes because I’m coming to school for studying and testing. I think the real hit will be a few days before graduation,” Sophia said.

Gwynnie G. has been a part of the AISG community for 10 years, and it is hard to say goodbye.

“I’m feeling a little bittersweet about this week,” she said, “On one hand, I’m excited to be one step closer to graduation and going off to uni. But on the other hand, I feel sad about leaving behind the school I’ve been part of for 10 years.”

This week has been very relaxed, with many grade 12 teachers having class parties to celebrate their achievements and hard work.

“For my last few classes this week, our teachers have been doing mini parties to celebrate our last IB class,” Gwynnie said, “Outside of classes, I’ve been going about my week pretty much the same as before.”

This is a very sad but joyful time for AISG’s seniors. We wish them good luck in their next endeavours and hope they will succeed wherever life takes them.
