School Life

What To Do for 61 Days

The school year has gone by in the blink of an eye. With summer coming up, I interviewed some students and teachers to find out what they are doing over the long break.

Kathleen H. says she is going to visit her home in Canada and possibly go on a Europe tour. David S. is also going to Europe to visit tourist attractions. Sam J. will do a tour around Europe (Italy, Sweden, etc) and go to Mongolia to camp before possibly visiting Japan. Jack P. says that he will be traveling around the US. Carmen C. said, “In the summer, I will be going back to Canada and will probably sleep, and eat a lot. I will go out a lot with my siblings to go shopping or [to] do other fun stuff. Depending on my parents, I might come back to Guangzhou early, and still eat and sleep a lot.” David Z. will be going to Canada to visit places such as Montreal and Quebec. Vicky J. says that we will go to Korea to visit her grandmother.

Regina K., a senior next year, says that she will be working on her EE, IAs and college applications.

Many students I’ve asked are going to a summer college program in the US. There are many benefits of these programs, as they can help you get a sense of college life and help you fit in better when you do go to college. They can also help you make friends, learn about potential majors and perhaps give a boost to your college applications. Rebecca Y. says she is going to a college program in Boston University to further pursue an Arts program. Kathleen W. is also going to Boston University, but she is going to a chemistry program. Victoria Y. is going to a Yale college program. Sam J. will be visiting the states to attend a college program.

Leyla S., who is moving this year, says that she will first go to Sydney, Australia to “move into her new house and settle her pets in”. Then, she will go to New York, California and Lake Anna in the U.S. to see her family and friends.

Leave a comment about where you are going in the break!
